Chief Financial Officer at the Port of Rotterdam Authority

Digitalisation plays a key role in this effort. AI supports decision-making in planning and logistics, community testing accelerates implementation, and data sharing forms the foundation of a connected ecosystem. Cybersecurity remains a top priority to protect digital systems from threats. At the same time, we are investing in renewable energy, including offshore wind and imports from renewable sources. This is how we are creating a port that is efficient, sustainable and future-proof.

We are both a global player and local partner, serving public interests and pursuing commercial goals. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is working on solutions in the here and now and for the long term. It all comes together in our purpose: 'Connecting the world. Building tomorrow's sustainable port.' We cannot implement that alone. We do it together with authorities, partners and local residents.

This past year, we have made considerable progress with digitalisation and sustainability. This annual digital report reflects on 2025 and considers our collective progress and lessons learned.

I would like to thank all our clients’ and partners’ business contacts for the valuable collaboration. Just as I would like to thank all colleagues within the Port of Rotterdam Authority for their efforts. We warmly invite you to share your insights with us so that we can continue building on a sustainable future together.
