• Set up a list with all stakeholders involved and needed communication plan 

When outsourcing activities, set up your requirements. Consider response times, uptime of the installation, pricing etc.

• Which maintenance activities need to be scheduled for your shore power installations? 

• Do you want to incorporate this in your regular terminal maintenance program? 

• Which third party will do regular inspections and will follow up maintenance requests? 

• Identify impact based on civil works and disturbance of (third-party) operational activities. 

• Contact Port Authority when technical asset information of civil infrastructure/quay is needed. 

Set up requirements and timelines.

• General terms and conditions regarding the use and availability of the shore power installation need to be set up. 

• Liability statement needs to be written for a ‘what if’ scenario when the shore power installation is not available. 

• By selling electricity to agents/vessels additional metering is required. 

• Set up standard process for invoicing, such as accounts receivable, etc. 

• Is monitoring software offered by the supplier of the shore power installation?

• Which reporting measures are required for subsidy providers? 

• Which information is needed by the Port Authority or other third parties? 

Tell the shore power story. 

Set up new procedures for informing the agents/vessels and other stakeholders about the availability of the shore power.

• What would be your one-off CAPEX investment (-subsidies)? 

• What would be your operational costs (OPEX)? 

• Could you make revenues out of shore power when making use of energy purchasing? 

• Which other benefits are related to shore power and could be monetized? (e.g. HBEs) 

• Include all other related benefits for your terminal as for agents or the vessels 

• Add the social cost or benefit  - address all other benefits for society that shore power brings.
